Sample Annotated Bibliography
Sample Annotated BibliographyAs the modern world has increasingly depended on computer-aided research, more organizations are requiring sample annotated bibliographies as part of the documentation required when obtaining government or industry funding. The sample allows the reviewer to view all information required for a particular project. This eliminates the need to spend time looking through each page and is an efficient way to help achieve goals.I have used this service from my own research company for the past 5 years and have had tremendous success with it. Although it is not as convenient as mailing in a manuscript, it offers time that would be spent doing research and analyzing the data that will be used in the final manuscript. It is especially valuable for project managers who must produce a bibliography for the project.First, I have downloaded a free online sample from the Association of Publishers. The file contains one page of annotations on each bibliography to categori ze the entries into subsections such as authors, publications, year, field, and publisher. The full file includes 20 pages of annotations covering several different bibliographies. After searching through the file, I found it very useful in creating a bibliography of references for my book, Creating an E-Book Business, so I downloaded the file again for use with my next book. Using the same set of annotations, I was able to identify and classify the bibliographies into sections such as titles, authors, volumes, year of publication, author affiliations, venues, and number of references.By using these annotations, I was able to create the book outline that is incorporated into the text of the book. Many authors develop outlines for their books and use the sample annotated bibliography with annotations to modify the text. The format of annotations helps the reader to read the book in its entirety and helps them to understand the format and structure of the book.Another benefit is the wa y that the bibliography can make a reference very obvious. A good example is when an author includes a listing of every reference in their book. If the author included all the references in the book, the reference list would be overwhelming and cumbersome.A bibliography can also be a significant resource when finding an alphabetical reference to search for. When a potential customer is searching for an obscure author, they may need to consult a bibliography to find the right book for them. The annotated bibliography allows the user to enter the word or term they are searching for in the appropriate bibliography section and then follow up with the specific reference listed in the paragraph or chapter. As I stated before, the sample annotated bibliography provides a free online service that can be used by many people. The files are small enough to download and include only a few lines of annotations.
